What if you could write a story in 5 sentences or less? What about 5 words or less?
Micro-stories are one of my favorite ways to practice and challenge myself. With just a sentence, you can tell a whole story. Some are direct and some leave the story to the reader.
My favorite micro-story, personally, was (allegedly) by Ernest Hemmingway and it goes: "For sale: baby shoes. Never worn." 6 words and you can imagine a whole story behind it.
I think the most intriguing part of writing these kinds of texts is finding ways to make it smaller and smaller without it losing its meaning. In my next post, I'll share my first micro-story, which is originally written in Spanish. Don't worry, though, I'll translate for you guys so you can get an idea of what I mean. And hey! If you want to share your own micro-stories, let me know! I'll share it on my page and give you the credit (and I'll tell people where to find you!)
